Vaccination of public transport workers starts – Rama: Relief of anti-COVID measures is expected
The vaccination of about 14 thousand public transport employees started on Wednesday in Skënderbej Square. According to official sources, the vaccination process will be carried out with doses of AstraZeneca and Sputnik-V. Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastirliu, were present to see closely the start of this process.
“Today, the vaccination of public transport employees started, and the vaccination of hotel and tourism employees is continuing, where about 6 thousand of them have been vaccinated. 9,000 tailor workers have also been vaccinated. Our goal is to reduce the age group. We are in a good situation regarding the epidemiological situation, tomorrow the committee for facilitating the measures will meet “, said Manastirliu.
“What I can add is that we are in an optimal situation in relation to the strategy and action plan but it is very important not to forget that we have full predictability regarding the road to the final exit from this tunnel, we must continue to be careful. Tomorrow the committee will come up with the new plan with further easing of the measures. “Our ambition to have a relief of the masses more than last year”, said Rama
In total, 736,365 people have been vaccinated since the beginning of the process. So far, more than 847 thousand doses of COVID vaccines have arrived in Albania, while the government’s objective is to carry out 1 million vaccinations by June.
